Yarmouk University signed a cooperation agreement with the Jordanian Information and Communications Technology Companies Association, "Intaj," to implement the TechForward initiative, aiming to align academic education outcomes with labor market requirements and enable students to acquire modern technical and practical skills thru applied projects and partnerships with the technology sector.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the university by the Vise President for Academic Affairs and Institutional Excellence, Dr. Amjad Diefallah Al-Naser, and on behalf of "Intaj" by the Executive Director, Engineer Nidal Al-Bitar, in the presence of the Vise President for Scientific Research, Accreditations, and Global Rankings, Dr. Ruba Al-Batayneh, and the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science, Dr. Qassem Al-Radaideh.
The agreement aims to provide university students with the opportunity to work on applied graduation projects in collaboration with local and international technology companies, enhance the partnership between universities and the private sector, and develop students' technical and professional skills in line with the rapidly changing labor market needs.
The Vise President, Dr. Amjad Al-Nasser, confirmed that signing this agreement aligns with the university's strategic vision aimed at enhancing applied education and building effective bridges with productive sectors.
Al-Nasser said that the TechForward initiative represents a practical model for linking academic knowledge with practical application, contributing to enhancing students' professional readiness and increasing their competitiveness in the job market. He emphasized that the university serves as a factory for minds and a incubator for building national competencies capable of contributing to sustainable development.
For his part, the CEO of the Jordanian Information and Communications Technology Association "Intaj," Engineer Nidal Al-Bitar, said that the collaboration with Yarmouk University reflects the association's commitment to supporting applied education and building the capacities of Jordanian youth in the information and communications technology sector.
He added that the TechForward initiative serves as a practical platform to enable students to work on real projects in collaboration with technology companies, contributing to the preparation of qualified personnel capable of competing locally and regionally.
For his part, the Dean of the College of Information Technology at the university, Dr. Qassem Al-Radaideh, affirmed that the initiative represents a qualitative addition to the academic programs in the college and contributes to enhancing the practical aspect related to the specializations of computer science, information systems, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
He pointed out that the initiative provides students with the opportunity to engage in real projects that contribute to honing their technical skills and linking their academic knowledge with the challenges of the job market.
The agreement stipulated the management and execution of TechForward initiative activities, coordination of communication between the university and participating companies, organization of training and introductory events, as well as monitoring project evaluations and selecting outstanding projects thru joint committees, and providing the necessary academic environment and supervision for the implementation of the initiative.
