Representing Yarmouk University and on behalf of the university president, the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, Dr. Qassem Al-Radaideh, participated in the launch ceremony of the fifth cycle of the Crown Prince Award for the Best Government Services Application, organized by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship in collaboration with the Crown Prince Foundation. The ceremony was attended by several university presidents, community college heads, and representatives from government entities and the private sector.
The award aims to encourage students from Jordanian universities and colleges, both public and private, at all academic levels to innovate digital creative solutions for developing government services thru smartphone applications.
The Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, and Chairman of the Steering Committee for the Crown Prince Award for Best Government Service Application, Engineer Sami Samaraat, announced during his opening speech the official launch of the fifth edition of the award, confirming that it continues the successes of previous editions and the impact they have had in stimulating student innovation and developing practical applications that contribute to improving services provided to citizens.
Samirat pointed out that the award, which was launched for the first time in 2019, reflects His Royal Highness Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince's, interest in empowering Jordanian youth and his belief in their pivotal role in building the future of the Kingdom, enhancing their participation in developing public services, encouraging them to innovate and lead, and utilizing future technologies to find smart solutions to national challenges. Whereas Yarmouk University won first place in the award in its first edition.
Samirat called on students from Jordanian universities and colleges to start preparing their ideas and forming their teams to participate in the award, in preparation for the opening of registration and the reception of applications thru the new digital platform starting from January 26, 2026, which allows students to review the participation conditions, targeted sectors, and the complete submission guide, thru the link:

The ceremony witnessed the announcement of the launch of a developed digital platform for the award, which represents a comprehensive re-innovation aimed at providing a modern and integrated experience for students, thru simplified registration steps, an intelligent verification system, and dynamic forms that adapt to the nature of the team and the chosen sector. The platform allows for the management of all stages of the award, starting from registration, thru the evaluation stages of initial screening, technical evaluation, innovative and entrepreneurial evaluation, and up to the final announcement of the results.
The new national platform represents a qualitative leap in the mechanisms of submission and evaluation, allowing for tracking progress stages, facilitating the review of applications by judging panels more effectively, and providing a unified and user-friendly interface that enables students to manage their participation fully.
It is worth noting that the fifth edition of the award will honor ten distinguished teams, with a total prize pool of 100,000 dinars allocated to the top five teams within the financial track of the award. Meanwhile, the other five teams will receive support and incubation opportunities within the INNSAN Sandbox experimental innovation environment to test and develop their solutions.
For its part, the Faculty of Information Technology invites all outstanding students of the college to participate in this pioneering and important competition.
