At the kind invitation of the conference organizers, Dr. Khaled Al-Nahar, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, represented the faculty at the fifteenth conference of the Arab States Research and Education Network (ASREN), which was held at the Hyatt Amman Hotel. Dr. Raafat Al-Sharman, Deputy Dean for Scientific Research and Graduate Studies, also participated as a representative of the deanship.
This participation aimed to enhance international cooperation in the fields of scientific research and information technology, and to keep up with the developments in research infrastructure and academic networking in the Arab world.
The fifteenth conference witnessed numerous sessions and presentations that addressed pivotal topics, the most prominent of which were:
• Developing National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) in Arab countries and their role in supporting the academic community.
• Review of regional and international interconnection projects, and the role of ASREN in enhancing global research collaboration.
• Discussion of electronic infrastructures supporting scientific research, such as cloud computing, high-performance computing (HPC), and data centers.
• Presentations on research applications that rely on high-speed networks, such as space science, medicine, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.
• Technical discussion sessions on cybersecurity, research data management, and innovative digital services.
• Reviewing success stories from Arab universities in developing and serving research communities.

The Dean of the College, Dr. Qassem Al-Radaideh, indicated that these participations represent an important opportunity to showcase Yarmouk University and the College of Information Technology and Computer Science at a prestigious scientific forum, successfully enhancing the college's presence on the regional stage and opening wide avenues for cooperation with Arab and international research and educational institutions. They also contribute to staying updated on the latest developments in research and education networks and the infrastructure supporting scientific research, which will positively reflect on the college's future plans.
