A team from Odoo UAE visits the College of Information Technology
Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Information Technology and Computer Science, Professor Dr. Qassem Al-Radaideh, the college hosted a team from Odoo UAE, as part of efforts to enhance academic collaboration and activate the agreement signed between Odoo and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship to benefit from the educational program the company offers to universities.
The Odoo team began the visit with an introductory workshop on the Odoo ERP system, discussing the importance of the system in supporting the educational process and its role in enabling students to understand Enterprise Resource Planning systems and how to utilize them in modern business environments. The team provided an explanation about the possibility of adopting the ERP course at the college based on the educational content provided by Odoo, which offers students comprehensive training in the fundamentals of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) with a focus on the Odoo system. Participants gain an in-depth understanding of ERP concepts, the flexibility of Odoo, and its applications in procurement, sales and customer relationship management, project management, inventory, manufacturing, human resources, and accounting. In the event that a student enrolls in the ERP course and studies according to the content approved by Odoo, they are entitled to receive the Odoo Student Diploma and Odoo Certification upon successfully completing the course requirements.
The visit also included holding two practical workshops: an applied workshop on the Buy & Sell system and an applied workshop on Website & eCommerce. The two workshops were characterized by an interactive nature, where direct applications were implemented and questions from students and faculty members were answered. Specialized training was provided to the faculty members in the Information Technology Department on the ERP system and practical lectures within several academic courses.
The dean also met with the team in his office, and ways to cooperate for the greatest benefit to faculty members and students were discussed. The Odoo team clarified that the visit was a continuation of the previous collaboration between the college and the company.
The two parties also confirmed the continuation of future cooperation, which includes course support, providing additional workshops, and expanding opportunities for benefit.
