Under the patronage of the esteemed university president, Dr. Malik Al-Shrairi, and the supervision of the Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science and the Deanship of Student Affairs, a data analysis hackathon titled NOVA BRAINLYTICS was held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, organized technically by the student team NOVA AI.
The competition aims to develop participants' skills in data processing, analysis, and presentation using technologies such as the Python programming language and presentation tools like Power BI, with the goal of designing dashboards to display data in a way that aids decision-making. The competition also aims to develop the participants' soft skills. All participating teams received several workshops before the hackathon began.
The competition events were inaugurated on behalf of the university president by Dr. Qassem Al-Radaideh, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology. At the end of the competition, which lasted from nine in the morning until five in the evening, Al-Radaideh honored the winners and distributed participation certificates to all the participating teams from several Jordanian universities, as well as to the supporting entities and the organizers of the competition.
The winning teams were as follows:
First place: The Outliers team from Yarmouk University (students: Ammar Abdullah, Reem Barqawi)
Second place: Vcoders team from Petra University (students: Omar Al-Madani, Imad Al-Din)
Third place: The seals team from Al-Hussein Technical University (students: Abdulrahman Al-Haimoni, Zaid Abu Al-Sahar, Abdulrahman Kurdi)
It is worth mentioning that the judging panel included:
Dr. Einas Al-Khashashneh, Dr. Yusra Harb, Dr. Heba Al-Quraan, Suha Al-Rababah, Mohammad Al-Rashdan, Zaid Abu Al-Khair.
The participating universities were: The University of Jordan, Yarmouk University, Jordan University of Science and Technology, Hashemite University, Amman Arab University, Amman University, Al-Zaytoonah University, Petra University, Al-Hussein Technical University, Irbid National University, Jadara University, and Zarqa Private University.
In turn, Dr. Al-Radaideh expressed the gratitude of Yarmouk University to everyone who contributed to the success of this competition and this special day, which was attended by more than a hundred students.

It is worth noting that the founders of the NovaAi team are students Shahla Zawahra and Dana Ba'irat, under the supervision of Dr. Enas Khashashneh. The idea for the hackathon was presented by students Mohammed Al-Rashdan and Zaid Abu Al-Khair, who recently won first place in the Arab region in a hackathon.
