The College of Information Technology and Computer Science welcomed a new batch of students this week for the 2025/2026 academic year. The college held a special celebration to mark the beginning of the academic year.

The Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science welcomed a new batch of students for the academic year 2025/2026 this week. The college held a special celebration to mark the start of the academic year, under the patronage of the Dean of the College, Dr. Qassem Al-Radaideh, where the new students gathered in the main hall of the university's conference building. At the beginning of the meeting, the Dean of the college welcomed the students and attendees with a welcoming speech, congratulating them and their families on their acceptance into the prestigious Yarmouk University and the distinguished programs of the college. He emphasized the importance of information technology specializations in the modern era and for the future, and the college's role in preparing the competencies required in the job market.
Al-Radaideh also reviewed the college's establishment, academic departments, and the programs available within it. He also offered new students a set of tips for starting their university studies and how to excel academically, as well as engaging in extracurricular activities that open up early opportunities for entering the job market.
The Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Qusai Al-Zoubi, also highlighted the importance of academic excellence and how students can benefit from the activities offered by the college to support them in their academic journey. He also reviewed some of the academic regulations that concern students.
The college representative in the student union, Samer Al-Mustarihi, spoke about the role and importance of the student union at the university in helping students solve their problems and listening to them.
In a special and distinguished segment, a group of outstanding and distinguished students from the college shared their personal experiences and advice for success in university life, the importance and methods of participating in competitions and workshops, and early interaction with the job market. Where the meeting was a wonderful opportunity for new students to interact with senior students and learn about strategies for success and excellence. A group of college graduates who joined the workforce was also hosted to talk about their experiences.
In this regard, student Wisan Yacoub spoke about the importance of the Business Information Technology program and discussed the college's relationship with the global Huawei network, in her capacity as a Huawei ambassador at Yarmouk University. She concluded her talk by highlighting the most important competitions and courses offered by the Huawei Academy.
The ambassador from the Green Circle Cybersecurity Company, student Majd Al-Naji, provided an overview of the company and the training and job opportunities available.
The ambassador of the Al-Hussein Technical University initiative, graduate Rama Al-Momani, spoke about the htux training platform to prepare students for the job market and the Yarmouk University agreement with Al-Hussein Technical University.
Students Shahla Al-Zawahra and Dana Bairat talked about the student team NovaAi and the activities it undertook last year, the competitions it won, participated in, or organized at Yarmouk University and beyond. The team's latest competition was winning first place in the Jordanian Integrity Competition.
Graduate Batoul Shdeifat spoke about her experience studying at the college and her follow-up on the developments that have occurred at the college. She also touched on the company she works for, job opportunities, and the skills necessary to engage in the job market, the most important of which are English language skills and communication skills.
The students Zaid Abu Rumman and Mohammad Al-Rashdan talked about their experience in participating in and organizing competitions, and their recent victory in the first place at the Arab level in the data analysis competition.
The college graduate Ali Bani Hamad also spoke about his experience at Yarmouk University and his distinction from the moment he entered the university until he graduated, and how he was recruited to work at one of the companies while still in the classroom.
In the end, the student Abedah Abdullah presented his experience in designing games of various types, both 2D and 3D. He talked about the most important competitions he participated in and won, and also showcased several games he had designed. He talked about his participation in many of these competitions and achieving advanced positions in them.
The meeting included. Which was skillfully and excellently managed by the student Sara Al-Momani, the quota representative in the Student Union, included a series of introductory segments and interactive competitions via the Kahoot platform, in which the students participated amidst an atmosphere of enthusiasm and positive interaction.
The meeting was attended by the vise deans, department heads, and several faculty members, and it lasted for nearly three hours. In the end, the college announced its preparations to organize a series of workshops and seminars in the coming weeks to enhance student interaction and develop their technical skills.
