The Faculty of Information Technology at Yarmouk University hosted Dr. Suleiman Al-Bashir, Chief Cloud Architect at Google Cloud, in a distinguished lecture titled
"Navigating the Generative AI Revolution"
The lecture covered important topics in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing. Dr. Al-Bashir reviewed the latest practical applications of these technologies and provided valuable future insights.
Dr. Al-Bashir also presented opportunities for collaboration between Google and students and faculty members, opening new horizons for research, development, and innovation.
At the end of the event, which was attended by a group of faculty members and students from the college and university, the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Qassem Al-Radaideh, thanked all the attendees and honored Dr. Suleiman Al-Bashir in appreciation of his outstanding scientific contribution.
The college looks forward to more fruitful collaboration in the future.
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Al-Bashir leads a team of engineers working on innovating ideas and projects based on generative artificial intelligence and cloud computing technologies to address real business challenges from concept to execution. He has approximately 20 years of experience in the fields of telecommunications, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, network engineering, and service transformation.
Before joining Google Cloud, he worked at T-Mobile as a principal architect in the design and development of cloud-based 5G networks, and he spent 10 years at Ericsson in research and development and network engineering roles. He holds approximately 40 patents in the fields of telecommunications and cloud computing, and he obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Quebec. He holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the Jordan University of Science and Technology.
For its part, the Faculty of Information Technology thanks Dr. Yanal Al-Ahmad for organizing this valuable lecture and for his follow-up.
