Information Technology organizes the Capture the Flag competition for cybersecurity.
The College of Information Technology and Computer Science – Department of Information Technology – organized the Capture the Flag (CTF@YU2025) cybersecurity competition, with wide participation from college students interested in the field of information security and ethical hacking.
Dr. Qusai Al-Zoubi, head of the organizing committee for the competition, indicated that the competition activities lasted for four consecutive hours in the college laboratories, with the participation of 15 teams comprising a total of 70 male and female students from various departments of the college. The participants competed in a series of advanced challenges in the fields of Reverse Engineering: Cryptography, Forensics, Misc, Web.
At the end of the event, a coronation and award ceremony was held for the winning teams, with the results as follows:
First place: Team Team Name
Second place: Team S4HUR
Third place: Team LEVELUP
The top three teams were honored with cash prizes provided by the supporting companies, in addition to participation certificates for all participants.
Thank you and appreciation plaques were also presented to the academic institutions and supporting companies that contributed to the competition and its success, including:
Green Circle Company, AL-Laith Academy, Gold Academy
The Dean of the college, Dr. Qassem Al-Radaideh, who inaugurated the competition and sponsored the award ceremony, indicated that this competition reflects the college's and the university's commitment to enhancing practical and competitive skills in the field of cybersecurity, and encourages students to develop their skills in system analysis and vulnerability discovery using professional and ethical methods. Dr. Al-Radaideh also confirmed that the college continues to hold distinguished activities that support the educational and academic process and prepare students to join the job market. These activities fall within the executive activities of the college and university's strategic plans.
