The President of Yarmouk University, Dr. Islam Massad, inaugurated the activities of the Scientific and Career Day for the Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science, titled "Future Technology."

The President of Yarmouk University, Dr. Islam Massad, sponsored the opening of the scientific and career day activities for the Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science, titled "Future Technology."
In his opening speech, Massad emphasized that Yarmouk University's role is not limited to academic education and qualification, but extends to professional preparation, building the student's character, and equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to be active in their community. Therefore, the establishment of the Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science aimed to supply the job market with graduates equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to solve problems in the field of various information technology applications.
He pointed out the university's continuous support for the Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science, through appointing a select group of professors capable of supporting the educational and research journey in the faculty, developing it, and keeping up with the latest technological advancements. Additionally, the university has sent outstanding students from the faculty to the best and most prestigious global universities to complete their higher studies, which contributes to forming a solid academic base of faculty members in the future.
Massad emphasized the need for all health, scientific, technological, and humanities disciplines to keep pace with the rapid developments and changes in their fields, and the necessity of integrating modern technology and digital skills into them. This integration contributes to improving the quality of the outputs of these disciplines in terms of human resources, which are considered a valuable investment opportunity capable of supporting and developing communities.
He pointed out that organizing this scientific and career day embodies the university's vision and the essence of its mission in building human capital. It also fulfills the college's philosophy of providing a positive academic environment aimed at offering distinguished education and programs that focus on scientific research and the development of students' scientific abilities. Additionally, this day embodies the spirit of cooperation between higher education institutions and various sectors of work, providing students with a valuable opportunity to engage with the job market, learn about the latest developments in technology fields, and meet experts and representatives from local and regional institutions and companies.
The Dean of the college, Dr. Qassem Al-Radaideh, said that the title of this day was chosen to be: "Future Technology," in line with the Jordanian government's decision to form the Future Technology Council this year under the direct supervision of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and chaired by the Prime Minister.
He pointed out that the Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science, in line with the university's vision and mission, strives to be a beacon of creativity and excellence through successive achievements in both educational and research fields, especially since the faculty includes a distinguished group of faculty members specializing in future technologies, such as data science and its subfields, artificial intelligence and its applications, and cybersecurity sciences.
He reviewed the college's achievements in terms of research published in classified international journals, in addition to the completion of numerous master's theses in various departments, the participation of faculty members in some international and local projects, and the registration of patents by academics in the Computer Science Department.
As part of the scientific and career day activities, Musaad inaugurated the graduation projects exhibition for the college students.
The scientific day included a number of scientific lectures covering topics on cybersecurity, business intelligence, and electronic game development. The speakers included game development expert at Al-Hussein Technical University, Dania Al-Saeed, data analyst at Microsoft, Abdullah Abu Alyan, director of Green Circle Company, Mohammed Al-Khudari, and certified trainer and penetration tester, Ahmad Taslaq.
