A cyber day par excellence

And the achievement continues... A cyber day par excellence

The College of Information Technology organizes a Cybersecurity Forum.

The Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science organized a prominent event on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, in collaboration with the Student Cybersecurity Community Team, under the slogan "Cybersecurity Forum." The event witnessed wide attendance from experts and specialists in the field of cybersecurity, both from within and outside the university. Held in the conference building, the event aimed to highlight the importance of strengthening digital defenses in the face of increasing cyberattacks, reflecting global trends in data protection and digital security.

The event was inaugurated by the college dean, Dr. Qasem Al-Radaideh, who emphasized in his speech the importance of cybersecurity in developing a secure digital environment. He added that cybersecurity has become an integral part of achieving sustainable development, ensuring the maximum benefit from digital transformations without compromising data integrity. The dean also clarified that cybersecurity is not just about technology or security measures; it is an essential part of the strategy to protect individuals, companies, and countries in the digital age. With the increasing threats and cyberattacks, everyone—whether individuals or institutions—must be aware of preventive measures and invest in advanced security solutions to reduce risks and protect valuable digital data.

The dean also appreciated the efforts of the Digital Security Community - YU, which was formed on August 1, 2024, as part of the college club under the management of the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Enas Al-Khashashneh, and the representatives of the Cybersecurity Program, Dr. Sami Al-Samadi and Dr. Qusai Al-Zoubi, as well as the Head of the Information Technology Department, Dr. Malik Barhouh. This community, headed by student Mustafa Bani Khalaf, aims to provide an opportunity for college students to learn and exchange ideas, and also offers an encouraging environment to develop their practical skills and prepare for real-world challenges.

The event witnessed numerous workshops and discussion panels on the main challenges facing government and private institutions in securing their digital systems, and the exchange of expertise on modern methods for countering cyberattacks.

One of the graduates of the college's cybersecurity program, Mr. Jawad Ta'mneh, who currently works at the National Cybersecurity Center, was hosted. A group of students from Jordanian universities also attended the event.

Among the most prominent topics discussed at the event were developments in artificial intelligence and its use in early detection of cyber threats. The event also addressed laws and regulations related to personal data protection and how to keep up with the latest global trends in this field.

The organizing committee for the event emphasized the importance of such meetings in raising awareness about cybersecurity, in line with the requirements of the National Cybersecurity Strategy, which has become an essential part of the Kingdom's digital infrastructure, as well as contributing to providing the necessary solutions to address future risks in a digitally interconnected world.

Thank you to the organizers from the college.

And thanks to the Public Relations Department.

And thanks to the university security department.

And thanks to the event sponsors who provided hospitality to the attendees.
