The College of Information Technology is undertaking a qualitative initiative by visiting the General Directorate of Public Security to present pioneering projects that serve the local community and state institutions using artificial intelligence.
At the kind invitation received by Yarmouk University from the Public Security Directorate – Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, both the Head of the Computer Science Department, Dr. Raad Al-Khatib, and the Deputy Dean, Dr. Nawaf Omar Al-Sarayin, participated in the workshop related to the use of artificial intelligence in developing applications to serve the local community and state institutions.
This workshop was held at the General Security Directorate - Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, organized and managed by the center's director, Dr. Kinsaa Masalha, with the attendance of several specialized representatives from various departments, centers, and directorates of the General Security Directorate. The attendees included representatives from the Judiciary Directorate, External Patrols Administration, Traffic Administration, Control and Cameras Administration, Artificial Intelligence Center, and the Innovation Center.

Since the research develops a method to detect drivers who use smart devices while driving, it provides numerous benefits that directly impact road safety and improve transportation systems.
It is worth noting that this research was supported by the Deanship of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies at Yarmouk University, and the Fulbright Research Grant.
