Information Technology Actively Participates in the 10th "Jana" Forum on Artificial Intelligence
The Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science made a significant and distinguished scientific presence at the 10th "Jana - Jordanians Graduates of North America" forum on artificial intelligence, hosted by Yarmouk University this year. The forum was held under the title "Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education: Reshaping Learning, Research, and Future Skills," with the participation of a select group of academics, researchers, and experts.
The college's participation embodied its academic and practical role in keeping pace with the rapid developments in artificial intelligence technologies and working to employ them effectively and responsibly in the development of education and scientific research.
Representing the Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science, Dean Dr. Qassem Al-Radaideh participated as a member of the higher organizing committee of the forum and also moderated the second dialog session titled "Artificial Intelligence in Scientific Research: From Data to Discovery." He led a rich scientific discussion that addressed the opportunities provided by artificial intelligence technologies in data analysis, accelerating discovery processes, and enhancing the quality of scientific research, as well as the challenges related to accuracy, reliability, and academic integrity.
Dr. Ziad Al-Hailat also participated, speaking in the second panel session, presenting a vision that combines his academic expertise with his extensive practical experience in the industrial sector. In his participation, he discussed ways to employ artificial intelligence in transforming data into actionable knowledge, enhancing the connection between scientific research and industry needs, and supporting innovation and data-driven decision-making.
Dr. Alaa Al-Din Al-Hamoud also presented an interactive practical workshop titled "Quick Practical Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Education and Research," which transitioned the participants from theoretical concepts to live and direct application of best practices, methods, and techniques. The workshop focused on the effective and systematic use of artificial intelligence based on sound scientific principles in identifying research gaps, building research, analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, and verifying output quality, while maintaining critical thinking and academic integrity.
Dr. Imad Al-Shawafqa also participated in the research projects exhibition with a scientific poster for one of the research projects he leads.
These qualitative contributions reflect the college's possession of academic competencies that combine scientific knowledge, practical experience, and the ability to transform artificial intelligence technologies into real-world practices that serve education, scientific research, and industry, and contribute to preparing students and researchers to handle future requirements with efficiency and responsibility.
The college appreciates the support of the Yarmouk University administration for scientific initiatives that promote a culture of innovation and digital transformation, and open the door for faculty members and students to participate in scientific discussions related to the future of higher education and scientific research.
