The College of Information Technology and Computer Science participates in the closing ceremony of the TechForward initiative.
From education to application… and from idea to real solution.
Yarmouk University, represented by the Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science, takes pride in its active participation in the TechForward initiative, launched by the Jordanian Information and Communications Technology Companies Association "Intaj," aimed at enhancing the alignment of university education with labor market needs and linking graduation projects to real challenges presented by companies.
The university's participation in the closing ceremony of the first batch of the initiative, which was sponsored by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Azmi Mohafaza, and attended and graciously followed by the President of Yarmouk University, Professor Dr. Malik Ahmad Al-Shraireh, the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science, Professor Dr. Qassem Al-Radaideh, the initiative liaison officer/deputy dean, Professor Dr. Imad Al-Shawagfeh, and several faculty members supervising the students' projects, namely: Dr. Alaa Hamoud, Dr. Qusai Al-Zoubi, Dr. Malik Barhouh, Dr. Islam Maghayra, and Dr. Inas Khashashneh, alongside the students of the graduation projects participating in the initiative, who embodied thru their projects the spirit of creativity and the ability to apply technical knowledge in addressing real challenges.
This participation aligns with the vision of Yarmouk University and the Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science in enhancing applied education, and developing the graduation project experience from its traditional academic framework to a broader space of innovation, solving real-world problems, and working within an environment close to actual business settings.
The TechForward initiative has represented a practical model of effective partnership between the university, the private sector, and students; it has allowed students to tackle real challenges, provided companies with the opportunity to benefit from innovative and scalable ideas and solutions, and offered academic supervisors a broader space to connect theoretical knowledge with practical application. The college's participation in the initiative resulted in the completion of eight applied projects, and several participating students received job offers from various companies, reflecting the direct impact of the initiative in transforming graduation projects into professional opportunities and practical solutions.
In light of the rapid development in artificial intelligence and digital transformation, competitiveness is no longer based solely on possessing technical skills, but on the ability to employ these technologies in providing innovative solutions to real-world problems. From here, the importance of initiatives like TechForward emerges in preparing students who are more ready, confident, and connected to the job market.
